ABOUT

WD-Distillery-Neon-Light-WEB-3.jpg

Pilgrimage Presents is all about live Blues and Jazz, a music genre loved by both Ricky and Ben (ironically R&B!!) the founders of this unique local event.  When we met and discussed promoting live gigs in the spring of 2021, we agreed to deliver top quality acts in a unique venue - @TheVic, Tramore, Co. Waterford. We want to bring the best of Waterford’s local musicians to you, both established and upcoming, with some acts making the Pilgrimage from a little further within the Southeast but also from across the country on a Luna cycle (once a month for less poetic readers!). The vibe in this unique club, filled with genuine character overlooking the stunning horizon of Tramore bay is where you need to be “Feelin' Good” as Nina Simone sang or just appreciate “What a Wonderful World” Louis Armstrong told us we live in.

Take your seat while you await your drink to be served (make mine a Waterford Whisky please!) and take in your surroundings. Relax and don’t be shy, you are in the company of many like-minded music lovers including a few who may just surprise you and be part of the show. So from here on in fall into the wonder world of great live music as this is your Destination ‘cause remember BB King reminded us “Tomorrow Is Another Day”.

Oh! We must have a cover charge as these great musicians need to live and if you enjoy their music please buy a CD if the musicians have some on offer to help them add some badly needed income. So come on “Into The Mystic to Smell the sea and feel the sky” ....... “Wouldn't it be great if it was like this all the time” as you head on home.

Our Partners

We are delighted to be partnered by Waterford Distillery who are so passionate about their craft -  "flavours are shaped by place, by the soils that nourish its roots, by the microclimate in which it ripens. By terroir." Ironically Blues originated from similar fields as Charlie Pride told us  “Down in the delta where I was born, All we raised was cotton, potatoes and corn, I've picked cotton 'til my fingers hurt, Draggin' a sack through the delta dirt, I've worked hard the whole weeklong”.

We are also grateful to Pat and Donagh for being the Facilitator, allowing the upstairs Chapel within their amazing Cathedral @TheVic stage what will in time become a mecca for music lovers across the country. We must also call out Jimmy McCabe for his fantastic support, guidance and knowledge not only of live music (after all he is one of Ireland’s top sound engineers) but his knowledge of the national Blues and Jazz scene.  You will see plenty of Jimmy as he is the go-to person for all our events.
